X- Pattern-The tyres are moved diagonally and shifted from one axle to the opposite.

Rearward Cross- The rear axle tyres move directly to the front. Spare tyres are on the right side of the rear axle. The front tyre on the right moves back to the left, diagonally of the rear axle, while the front tyre on the left is the now the new spare tyre.

Forward cross- The rear tyres are moved diagonally to the opposite side of the front axle. The front tyre is the new spare. The spare tyre is on the right side of the rear axle.

 For high performance and directional tyres—

 Side to side- The tyres are switched with their same sizes but remain on the axle.

Front to back- The tyres are moved from axle to the next but remain on the same side
